As
a recognised face on BBC2’s Mock the Week, which Frankie
has now left to pursue other projects, Frankie Boyle is an
established name in the world of comedy with a devoted following.
Frankie’s
first DVD, Frankie Boyle Live is officially the second
fastest ever selling debut stand up release, selling just
under 16,000 copies on its first day alone.
The DVD was filmed on the final night of Frankie’s first
national tour, Frankie
Boyle Live, which was extended due to phenomenal demand with
all 150 tour dates selling out.
In
March 2010 Frankie hit the road again for a second national tour,
entitled I Would Happily
Punch Every One of You in the Face, which has already been
extended due to overwhelming public demand – 52,000 tickets were
sold on the first day the tour went on sale and the tour is now
completely sold out. The
tour will again culminate in a DVD record, with Frankie recording
his second live DVD at the Hammersmith Apollo in June this year.
Set for release in November this year, the DVD will be
called If I Could Reach Out
Through Your TV and Strangle You, I Would.
Frankie’s
autobiography, My Shit Life
So Far, was released in October 2009 and shot into the Times
Bestseller List. He is
developing his own television series for C4 and other recent
appearances include You Have Been Watching, Would
I Lie to You? and Never
Mind the Buzzcocks. He
also writes a weekly column for The Sun newspaper, offering an
acerbic take on all the latest news and events.
