At
just twenty years old, Jack Whitehall has made a remarkable
impact upon the comedy world.
With
just a year’s experience, Jack has recently been involved with a
number of television projects including hosting the live launch
show of Big Brother's Big Mouth followed by a week as the resident
host,
E4 Funnycuts and Ruddy Hell it's Harry and Paul with plenty more
in the pipeline.
Born
into a theatrical family, Jack initially worked as a child actor
in various television dramas but shortly after leaving school he
decided to pursue a career in stand up comedy. Six
months later, aged 18, he beat over 600 contestants to become the
youngest ever comedian to reach the final of the prestigious
Laughing Horse New Act competition for which he finished runner
up.
In
addition, he battled his way through a tense two night
London
competition to secure a place on the Pleasance Comedy Reserve –
a showcase of the best in upcoming comedy talent at the Edinburgh
Fringe Festival. Whilst
at the Fringe, he reached the final of Channel 5’s So You Think
You’re Funny and on the last weekend of the festival after four
rounds, Jack was crowned the youngest ever Winner of The Amused
Moose New Act of the Year, leading Time Out to pinpoint him as
“a rising star.” In
between performing to packed houses in the Comedy Reserve, Jack
appeared in several long running Fringe showcases, including The
Late Show, Afterhours, BBC Stand Up Show Live and Political
Animal, for which he was the first stand-up to appear below the
legal voting age.
Jack is making a strong impression
on the London circuit, having appeared at The
Comedy Store, Banana Cabaret, Jongleurs, The Frog and Bucket, The
Funnyside of Covent Garden, 99 Club, The
Arts Theatre and The Soho Theatre.
