Sarah
triumphed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2008 as she was awarded
the Best Newcomer Award at the If.Comedy Awards for her debut solo
show, Sarah Millican's Not Nice. This topped off an
incredible Fringe for Sarah as she received rave reviews and
sell-out audiences for the entire run with critics pinpointing her
as a great talent to keep an eye on.
Until
September 2004, Sarah’s wit came from the mouths of others. Her
comedy writing has been recognised by the BBC, Live Theatre
Newcastle and The Customs House in South Shields where her first
play was staged in September 2005.
One
open spot later and she began her rapid ascent to become one of
the North East’s hottest comics.
Sarah has established herself as a
crowd-pleasing act with well written material and a gentle
delivery style which disguises her cutting observations on life,
love and moving back in with your parents.
She
is a prolific writer and performer and gigs as often as possible
all over the country
including The
Comedy Store, Jongleurs, The Glee, The Stand, Comedy Café, Banana
Cabaret, Hi Fi, Funny Bones, Rawhide,The Frog and Bucket, Just
Laugh, Up the Creek, Ginglick, Monday Club etc. Her
warmth on stage has won her swarms of fans and has seen her gig at
just about every venue across the country this year.
