Welcome to the Chambers Management September 2007 Talent Update In this email:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edinburgh Festival 2007 round up Andrew Lawrence proved his talents by securing a nomination for the prestigious if.comedy Awards (formerly Perrier) with his critically acclaimed show Social Leprosy for Beginners and Improvers. Described by the Times as 'one of the most likeable and exciting acts around. It's a joy to be in his contemptuous company', the Telegraph as 'a film-casting agent's dream for a certain type of scary misfit - especially so as he has a rare facility for accents' and the Observer 'Never have gratuitous insults been so wickedly funny'. Chortle's 5 * review sums up Andrew's show: 'he expresses his festering negativity beautifully, a relentless onslaught of savage adjectives and corrosively evil metaphors. The florid language, the ceasesless pace of great lines and the vigour with which he pursues his derision all combine for a barnstorming show' Andrew was nominated for the if.comedy newcomer award only last year and has done extremely well to come back 12 months later and get onto the shortlist for the main award. Frankie Boyle broke many records this year with his incredible pre-Festival sales. Selling out his 13,000 tickets and extra shows so quickly, proving his place in the premier league of today's comedians. Jimmy Carr sold out all 8 nights delighting the fans once again with his all new tour show Repeat Offender. The show will tour nationally in the next 10 months with 130+ dates planned.
