Chambers Management is a boutique agency with a client list drawn from the competitive world of stand-up comedy. Our touring department, Chambers Touring, promotes live tours across UK theatres and arenas and, in conjunction with local promotors, throughout the world, and is one of the most respected and successful live comedy promoters operating in the UK.

About the position

Based in our open plan Covent Garden offices your role would be varied across the Agency and Touring arm. Your role would have a particular focus on circuit bookings and assisting the touring team in small and large tours. You would also be responsible for Chambers and clients’ social media and online presence. One of the benefits of working in a boutique agency is you will have the chance to learn about other aspects of the company.

Responsibilities include

  • Overseeing live diaries for circuit clients, building and maintaining relationships with club and circuit promoters and proactively seeking out gigs within the club circuit
  • Management of any paperwork and logistics needed for club and circuit gigs, including communication with the clients
  • Assisting with other areas of company admin, such as logistics for selected tours and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
  • Assisting with answering phone calls and general enquiries to the office
  • Updating of diary for clients, shared with the team
  • Collation and distribution of monthly mail-out of client updates and news
  • Updating of online media channels, including Chambers Twitter feed, Chambers website, and some client social media
  • Although the role is office based, due to the nature of the industry you may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends

Candidate requirements

  • A long standing passion for comedy, especially live comedy
  • Some experience working with theatres/live concert venues
  • Working knowledge of social media and updating websites
  • Experience of working with clients and ability to present information clearly to them
  • Ability to work on a variety of different types of projects at the same time while maintaining daily and regular duties
  • Understanding and managing budgets for live tours
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with comedy bookers and other contacts
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs especially Excel spreadsheets
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Discreet and trustworthy when dealing with clients
  • A good understanding of maths and VAT to finalise financial settlements
  • An understanding of basic tour production is desirable
  • Ability to think calmly and come up with solutions in pressured situations
