Chambers acts impress at Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival

Chambers acts had a fantastic Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, with a series of critically-acclaimed shows and appearances across the run.

The formidable Jimmy Carr walked away with the inaugural Roastmasters Invitational Championship, seeing off competition such as Wil Anderson, Tom Ballard and Joe Derosa on his way to being crowned overall champion of the putdown. Jimmy also performed to riotous acclaim as part of the infamous Nasty Show and compered the Brit-ish line-up on two occasions.

Sarah Millican enjoyed a fantastic Just For Laughs, her debut appearance at the American continent’s premier comedy festival. Performing her own solo show Outsider and twice as part of the Brit-ish line-up show, Sarah also starred on Wanda Sykes gala show, a performance described as a festival highlight by the Montreal Gazette.

Also wowing audiences was Pippa Evans, who performed as part of the Brit-ish line-up and received rave reviews for her unique brand of musical comedy.

And last but by no means least, Stuart Goldsmith also had a brilliant festival, garnering great reviews for his spots on the Brit-ish line-up (“perhaps the funniest of all” – Exclaim!) and securing a number of high-profile guests for The Comedian’s Comedian Podcast, including a live show with the legendary Patton Oswalt.

Jack Whitehall stars in The Bad Education Movie

This month sees the much-anticipated release of the big screen adaptation of Jack’s hit sitcom, Bad Education. The film will see hapless teacher Alfie Wickers and his class of mischievous misfits going on what promises to be the school trip of a lifetime. With a stellar cast including Matthew Horne, Harry Enfield and Joana Scanlon, The Bad Education Movie is sure to be one of the hit films of the summer. It’s out in cinemas on August 21st.

Hardest working man in comedy Jimmy Carr will be recording brand new episodes of Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown this month alongside Susie Dent, Rachel Riley and a host of hilarious guests. Sarah Millican is guest captain on Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, plus stars in Crackanory for Dave

Sarah Millican will be making a welcome return as guest captain to Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown this month, joining Jimmy Carr, Rachel Riley and Susie Dent for literacy, numeracy and lunacy in an episode that broadcasts at 9pm on 7th August. Stuart Goldsmith will be returning to the Edinburgh Fringe this year with his brand new show, An Hour.

Pippa Evans returns to the Edinburgh Fringe with There Are No Guilty Pleasures

Pippa Evans is bringing her Leicester Comedy Festival Best Show-nominated There Are No Guilty Pleasures to the Edinburgh Fringe.

Star of various things that her name isn’t in the title of (The Now Show, Showstoppers, Fast and Loose and other stuff you might have heard of) and creator of such juxtaposing projects as Loretta Maine and the Sunday Assembly, Pippa Evans wants to celebrate all those things we pretend we don’t like. Mick Hucknall, picking your feet and jokes involving crotches are all on the list. What’s your guilty pleasure? Come confess!

David O’Doherty, the Lidl Enya, the broken Bublé, is delighted to present a new hour of talking and songs played on a stupid keyboard from 1986. Life is like a box of chocolates, but one where somebody else has eaten all the chocolates. And replaced them with mouse heads and dishwasher tablets.
