Nabil Abdulrashid

Nabil Abdulrashid is an award-winning comedian and writer.

Nabil has appeared on all of the top comedy entertainment shows, including multiple appearances on: Live at the Apollo, QI, Have I Got News For You, The Last Leg and Would I Lie To You? plus House of Games, An Extra Slice, Pointless Celebrities, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and loads more. A practising Muslim, Nabil was also a ‘pilgrim’ on BBC Two’s faith-based show Pilgrimage. He has come a long way since being a finalist and Alesha Dixon’s golden buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent in 2020.

In his first tour show, entitled N.A.B.I.L (Nobody Actually Believed I’d Last), he shared hilarious stories about his experiences of the school system in Nigeria, his return to England, how he spent a short time in prison and started performing comedy upon his release. The show was declared “moving and captivating as well as split-your-sides funny” (Evening Standard) and Nabil praised for his “genuine humanity… an easy comic to like even before he holds you rapt with his various misadventures” (Chortle).

Nabil received critical acclaim and sell out audiences for his debut Edinburgh Fringe show The Purple Pill, which he then took on tour.  The show was filmed as a stand up Special and is available to watch on YouTube. His new show Urban Battuta has been on tour across the UK, Europe and beyond.

Nabil’s comedy has been widely praised in the press. The Guardian recognised his “sardonic intelligence and sharp eye for the absurdities of racial discourse” and identifies him as “one of comedy’s most honest chroniclers of life’s complexities and contradictions”. The Scotsman cites him as “a potent, mischievously entertaining voice” and The List describes him as “a likeable raconteur with a unique perspective
